As the golden leaves fall and woodsmoke curls into the crisp evening air, there’s a quiet luxury that winter brings to the table – a stillness, a slowness, and a longing for depth. In wine, that depth is often found in reds with structure, soul and story – and for us at Rochford, there is no greater expression of these than Cabernet Sauvignon and its kindred cool-climate companions.
At Rochford, Cabernet is not just a varietal; it’s a voice. And winter is its season to sing.
A Quiet Renaissance in Yarra Valley Cabernet
For too long, Yarra Valley has been known as Pinot and Chardonnay country. But for those who walk the vineyards, taste the ferments, and feel the texture of the soils, Cabernet Sauvignon is having a quiet renaissance here. When grown in the right pockets, at the right elevation, Cabernet in the Yarra shows restraint, elegance, and precision – the kind of beauty that doesn’t shout, but lingers.
Our Single Vineyard Isabella’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is perhaps the clearest articulation of that beauty. Sourced from the Briarty Road Vineyard in Gruyere – a site celebrated for its classical structure and aromatics, this wine hums with red cherry, cassis, dried sag
e, and cigar box spice. Fermented in open wooden vessels, matured in fine French oak, and awarded 96 points by Halliday, it’s a wine of plush tannins and long, vivid memory.
The Left Bank, Reimagined: La Gauche in Three Acts
Alongside Isabella’s, is a wine that embodies our modern vision for Yarra Valley Cabernet: la Gauche – our Left Bank-inspired blend shaped by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.
In 2023, la Gauche shows its floral side – violets, bay leaf, cherry and olive tapenade – all layered over silky tannins and elegant freshness.
The 2022 vintage offers darker fruit and deeper complexity: mulberry, chocolate-dipped cherries, cedar and violet perfume, woven together with dusty tannins and a brooding, age-worthy frame.
And 2021, the most decorated of the three, brings vibrancy and spice, lifted red fruits and a savoury, earthy finish – a vintage that has already claimed three medals, including Gold at the Halliday Cabernet Challenge.
Together, these wines form a vertical arc, a tasting experience that is as intellectual as it is sensory, inviting you to trace the evolution of site, climate and cellar craft across years.
For the first time, these three vintages appear together – side by side, bottle by bottle – in a limited release that allows you to taste their lineage in motion. This is not merely a vertical tasting; it is a sensory archive. A chance to trace climate and craft across years, and to experience the nuance that only time, place and patience can yield.
Released now as part of our winter portfolio, this special collection –Vertical Cadence: Four Yarra Valley Cabernets – includes all three expressions of la Gauche, alongside the distinguished Single Vineyard Isabella’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2021. Together, they form a rare narrative in red, available only for a brief seasonal window.
Of course, Cabernet doesn’t live in isolation. The Yarra Valley is home to a stunning array of reds that echo the same principles of minimal intervention, hand-picked fruit and a deep reverence for site.
The Estate Foundations in Red 12-bottle collection is one such example – a curated dozen spanning our Syrah, Cabernet Franc, la Gauche and la Droite blends. Each wine speaks to our estate’s diversity, from the spice-laced cool
-climate Syrah to the graphite finesse of Cabernet Franc. These are not showy wines – they are wines of intellect, of rhythm and restraint, wines that ask you to pay attention. A masterclass in Yarra Valley terroir, this collection is a celebration of site, soil, and season.
Every wine in this collection is crafted exclusively from fruit grown in Rochford’s estate vineyards – including the iconic home block in Coldstream. Each parcel is hand-picked with precision, fermented in micro-batches, and treated with care to preserve the purity of fruit and amplify complexity. The result is a portfolio of reds that reflect not only a place, but a philosophy: minimal intervention, expressive winemaking, and deep respect for the land.
These are wines that speak fluently of origin – four unique voices from the vineyard, harmonised into one extraordinary experience. A cellar-worthy snapshot of Rochford’s terroir, vision, and elegance.
For those seeking warmth without weight, the Three Shades of Rochford Red 6-bottle collection offers a more immediate pleasure: a trio of Cabernet, Merlot and Shiraz from our vibrant Rochford Range, crafted with purity, energy and easy winter pairing in mind.
Expect youthful energy, vivid fruit expression, and a polished yet approachable style from bold Cabernet Sauvignon, supple Merlot and plush Shiraz. With minimal fining and careful oak treatment, these wines deliver pure, confident flavour made for firelit dinners, shared stories, and warm winter evenings. Discover the fresh face of Yarra Valley reds.
And for lovers of texture and terroir, the Poetry of Place duo – Isabella’s Portfolio offers balance in its most refined form. These are wines that wear their origin with elegance, each bottle a portrait of the Briarty Road vineyard, in oak and stonefruit, cherry and spice.
This limited-edition collection offers two singular expressions of site, season, and meticulous craftsmanship. Featuring the poised, age-worthy elegance of Isabella’s Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and her radiant, mineral-laced Chardonnay counterpart, this duo is a study in purity, balance, and finesse.
Each wine is the result of decades of vineyard exploration – hand-selected from the most exceptional parcels that consistently yield fruit of depth and precision. Wild fermented in small batches, with tailored maceration and maturation in the finest French oak, these wines are crafted to articulate not only their variety, but their exact origin in time and soil.
This is a pair for the collector or the connoisseur; a perfect duo for fireside contemplation, or an elegant centrepiece for a winter table. Two vineyard voices, one timeless expression of Yarra Valley terroir.
These are not just wines made available for the season, they are curated expressions of time and terroir, offered in limited-edition collections that honour the artistry of cool-climate winemaking. More than a moment of indulgence, they are an invitation: to taste with intention, to journey through vintage, to discover the quiet poetry of vineyard and place.
In each pack lies more than just flavour, there is structure, nuance, and narrative. A chapter of the Yarra Valley’s evolving story. Whether it’s the vibrance of a young Cabernet, the textural purity of single-vineyard Chardonnay, or the depth of a Left Bank-style blend told through three vintages, this is a chance to engage with the layers of craftsmanship that shape every bottle we release.
In a season that calls for slow meals, candlelit rituals and meaningful pours, let each glass echo provenance, grace, and the quiet power of time well spent.
As the sun begins its slow descent a little earlier each day and the vineyard leaves paint the Yarra Valley wine region in tones of gold, russet, and amber, there’s no better season to indulge in something deliciously slow, warming, and deeply satisfying. At Isabella’s Restaurant, nestled in the heart of Rochford Wines, we invite you to trade brisk winds for the gentle glow of an open fire – and discover the pleasures of our newly launched winter menu.

When the sun sets over the Yarra Valley vineyards and the fairy lights begin to twinkle at Rochford Wines, something magical happens. The music starts, and couples find themselves at the heart of their dream celebration – thanks to the incredible team at Tonic DJs.
“It’s more than a gig. It’s the opportunity to give a couple the best day of their life – which we take seriously in the most fun way,” shares the Tonic DJs team, whose passion for creating perfect wedding moments is evident in every event they are part of at Rochford Wines.
A Match Made in Musical Heaven
The supplier partnership between Rochford Wines and Tonic DJs feels natural – both share an unwavering commitment to creating exceptional wedding experiences. “The staff at Rochford are just wonderful. Not only can you see their experience and professionalism in all the work they do, but it is plainly obvious that they love what they do too!”Â
What makes this venue-entertainment duo so special? Picture this: a stunning dance floor centered in the heart of the action, panoramic vineyard views that keep outdoor guests connected to the celebration, and the freedom to keep the music pumping into the night. It’s a recipe for celebration perfection.
Beyond the Basic Beat
Tonic DJs isn’t your average wedding entertainment service. With qualifications in sound engineering, years of event management experience, and a team trained specifically for weddings, they bring a level of expertise that transforms good celebrations into unforgettable ones.
“We want to give couples the wedding they want,” they explain, “so everything we do and say is bespoke to them with the goal of everyone (old, young, and in between) having the best time.”
Their commitment to excellence extends beyond the music. They’re Australia’s most eco-conscious DJs, partnering with Greenfleet to ensure carbon-neutral travel to venues. Plus, with 24-hour support available (though they’re yet to receive that 3 AM call!), couples can rest easy knowing they’re in capable hands.
Creating Your Perfect Soundtrack
How do they craft the perfect playlist for each couple? It’s all about asking the right questions and understanding that every wedding is unique. Whether you’re after “wedding bangers” or have a specific playlist for every hour, Tonic DJs work their magic to create a night that’s uniquely yours.
From timeless classics like “Can’t Help Falling in Love” to modern hits, they’ve mastered the art of reading the room and keeping the dance floor packed. And those must-play favorites? “Nutbush, Mr Brightside, and anything by ABBA!” they reveal with a laugh.
More Than Just Music
What truly sets Tonic DJs apart is their comprehensive approach to wedding entertainment. Their MCs don’t just make announcements – they’re event coordinators, timeline managers, and atmosphere creators all rolled into one.
They’ve introduced unique elements like their audio guest book telephone, the popular ‘Shoe Game’, and even choreographed group dancing that turns strangers into friends on the dance floor. “It’s why understanding the couple, their guests, the event, and reading the room is so important,” they explain.
Magic Moments at Rochford
The venue’s layout at Rochford Wines perfectly complements Tonic DJs’ style. “With the dance floor and bar in the middle of the action, it encourages people to mingle, move around the space, and keep all the fun front and centre,” they share. Those farewell sparkler arches down the brick path? Pure magic every time.
Some of their most memorable moments include watching grandparents become the life of the dance party, surprise musical performances during speeches, and seeing couples completely lost in the moment, surrounded by their loved ones “going nuts” on the dance floor.

Q&A with the Tonic DJ team
1. What are some of the most popular first dance songs? Any tips for couples stuck on choosing their song?
‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ is such a beautiful song and couples are often requesting either the Elvis classic or more modern covers of it. I think a song as well-written as that will remain timeless. More contemporary choices include songs by Ed Sheeran and Chris Stapleton. Increasingly, couples are finding lesser-known songs or alternative versions of well-known songs, which we love to play and see the reaction on guests’ faces.
Tips? If you don’t have an obvious choice then know that there is no need to spend months listening to playlists to find the perfect song…there are just too many great songs out there! Simply decide what mood you want for it (ie. Romantic, playful, elegant etc) and make a short-list using Spotify’s browse, playlists, or radio function and adding songs you like to it. Then, find an evening to pop open a bottle of wine, make a small dance floor somewhere in your house, and play the songs (just to the end of the first chorus is enough) while actually dancing to it. When you hit the right song, you’ll know!
Above all, place as much effort and emphasis on this moment as you like. Your guests probably won’t remember the song, but they will remember the feeling of seeing two people they adore in love and sharing that moment together, so you do you.
2. How does having a great MC help create a seamless and fun wedding reception? What are the benefits of choosing a professional over a family member or friend?
Great question! There’s much more to being an MC than being an MC. We know that MCs need to be engaging, a great public speaker, maybe have some witty banter, and many people may have a friend or family member that matches that description. However…
In our opinion, a great MC should do a lot more than just talk on the microphone. They should be the one that can tie the whole event together, making sure all of the stakeholders (including the venue, vendors, guests, and of course the couple) are prepared for every moment. Think of them as your primary contact throughout the night, ensuring everything that’s arranged is coordinated and going to plan. They should also be there if there are little hiccups throughout the event. For example, perhaps you had to shift sunset photos due to bad weather. The MC should be able to make suggestions regarding the schedule and coordinate everything while keeping the rest of the event running smoothly.
Hiring a professional MC also allows all family and friends to enjoy the party without the pressure of running the event, worrying what’s next, or if they are sober/loose enough to do the job. It’s so easy to lose track of time when you’re a guest so leaving it to the pros is a much better option. There can be a number of formalities and inclusions in a reception and regardless of whether you are going for something formal or more casual, having an expert that knows how to flow from one formality to the next, knows how to encourage the appropriate response from the room, and importantly knows how to direct the newlyweds so that they aren’t left awkwardly wondering what to do, can make a big difference. Delivering all of this in a fun, warm, and relaxed manner is when couples really see it was well worth the relatively small additional cost.
Our approach at Tonic is very ‘client centric’, and we are experts at understanding our brief and helping couples feel comfortable and confident that the reception is in safe hands. Venues also love when we are there to MC too for the same exact reason.
3: Your best advice? What’s your number one piece of advice for couples when planning or on the day of their wedding?
Planning – it’s all about you so do it your way! Include things that make you happy and leave out anything that makes you uncomfortable. Find venues and suppliers that are flexible enough to go with your vision and consider their advice…we’ve done it hundreds of times!
On the day – remember any delays at the start may mean less time for things later. The classic is if everything from the entrances onwards is delayed by just 15 minutes, it can leave you with an hour less time on the dancefloor than you wanted. Our MCs will always try their best to get things back on track, which is one of the reasons venues and couples love us. To enquire and connect with Tonic DJ’s https://www.tonicdjs.com.au/

Equivalent to the Grand Final in winemakers’ stakes, the term “Harvest†inked on the viticulturist’s calendar marks a uniquely vibrant and high-octane time of year.
With Pinot Noir’s seductive violets and Chardonnay’s honeyed yellow-green hues, the vines are heavy with plump grapes that have newly changed colour and softened, thanks to the metamorphosis that is veraison.
Harvest in the Yarra Valley is where the whole region comes alive with the shared excitement of winemaking. It’s the time of year that every winemaker and wine lover alike look forward to. But what actually happens during Harvest, and what makes it such a pivotal (and awe-strikingly photogenic) time in the winegrowers’ process? Let’s take a closer look at uncorking this fascinating and illustrious chapter in the life of a bottle of Rochford wine.
Our Premier Pinot grapes grown at our Isabella’s vineyard are lovingly hand-picked and ready to be stomped in small-batches.
The Calm Before the Crush: Vine to Wine
Harvest season is the great determinant to a wine’s quality. Behind the curtain, the vines are carefully tended throughout the growing season, with each variety yielding its own ideal window for picking.
Our 2025 harvest season kicked off last month with our Chardonnay grapes lovingly plucked from their Isabella’s vineyard birthplace. Isabella’s is just one of our three Rochford vineyard sites – each offering a differing taste of the diversity of Yarra soil and microclimates, with our vineyard management centred around balance and sustainability.
Our unique cool-climate conditions produce elegant, nuanced wines, which also means that a meticulous finesse is required to determine exactly when to harvest. Too early, and the nurtured grapes might lack the sugar content needed for fermentation. Too late, and they could over-ripen, leading to overly jammy flavours. Pinpointing that sweet spot? That’s where the magic happens in fruit purveying.
Our juicy Chardonnay grapes are picked and ready to be pressed, and fermented.
Science or Art? The Fruits of Our Labour
Deciding when to pick the fruit is one of the most critical decisions that is made in the harvest process. In the days leading up to harvest, our Chief Winemaker Kaspar conducts fruit sampling in the vines to determine the opportune time to pick. At this time, the sugar content of the grapes is tested in our laboratory, and measured in Brix. This is a primary factor in several key chemical parameters that are determined to guide when to pick our grapes.
When Kaspar decides the moment is right, it’s all hands on deck, as unpredictable weather influencing varying degrees of ripeness plays a critical role in the timing of harvest. We normally begin picking in late February (-this season was particularly extraordinary in its early February kick off, which is not typical at all).
What ensues is an exciting yet intense time, with our dedicated vineyard team working from dawn till dusk (and sometimes de-stemming, pressing, and fermenting until after midnight, as in our 2025 vintage season).
The moment of truth: Our Chief Winemaker Kaspar tasting Chardonnay grapes across different parcels of Isabella’s vineyard in the lead up to harvest
Into the Winery: Pressing and Fermentation
There’s something special about the meticulous care and the attention to detail that comes with plucking each bunch of grapes by hand. Hand-picking is particularly common for our high-end wines. Each cluster is looked at individually, ensuring that only the ripest, healthiest fruit make it into the winery. Machine harvesting, on the other hand, is a quicker process, usually employed for larger yields, and is no less important.
In our 2025 harvest setlist, first were the Chardonnay grapes then Pinot, and lastly Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Shiraz. Once the grapes are picked, it’s straight into the winery for pressing, where the magic truly unfolds. Certain grapes like Chardonnay and Cabernet undergo “crushing,†but we maintain as many whole berries with the Pinot and Shiraz, as whole berry fermentation retains more freshness and features of pure fruit flavour.
For our revered white wines, the grapes are often pressed right after picking, separating the juice from the skins to maintain a fresh, crisp profile. Our Rochford Chardonnay grapes are picked, pressed, and straight into the tank to begin fermenting.
Our Pinot Noir grapes, once picked and de-stemmed, spend time with the skins in fermentation to extract colour, tannins, and those complex, rich and robust flavours that embody our enticing Rochford reds. Our Shiraz and Merlot grape varieties also get de-stemmed and settle into a primary fermentation before getting pressed into another tank, where skins come off. During fermentation, the winemaker is like a conductor, ensuring everything is on track and adjusting the conditions to procure the best result.
A lesser-known fun fact is that certain small-batch grapes are still stomped by foot. As a traditional practice in ancient winemaking, stomping allows for more refined tannins and better integration of flavours.
The Yarra Valley Way: Why Harvest Here is Unique
The Yarra Valley’s cool climate – combined with its rich history and terroir – makes it an ideal place for growing wine grapes. The region’s long growing season allows the grapes to ripen slowly, preserving their acidity while developing complex flavours. The result? Wines that are elegant, balanced, and full of complex character that ignite the senses.
From Pinot Noir and Chardonnay to Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, our rich variety reflects the nuances of the stunning landscape we are uniquely enveloped in. The Valley’s unique combination of soil types, altitude, and its proximity to Melbourne’s moderating coastal influence creates a terroir that is unlike any other in the world of winemaking.
Harvesting Our Story: More Than Just Grape to Glass
While harvest is about procuring glorious wine, it’s also about cultivating the story. It’s a time when friends and family gather to celebrate nature’s bounty, where the connection between the land and the people who passionately work with it, is stronger than ever.
After all, our wine is an expression of place. From the moment the grapes are picked to when they reach the glass, every bottle of Rochford wine carries with it the essence of the land, the hands that nurtured it, and the passion that went into creating it.
For wines that are built to tell the story of place and time, harvest season in our picturesque region culminates as a crucial moment in development.
It is during this pivotal time that every detail, from soil to climate, converges to create wines that are not just a product, but a reflection of the season’s journey, in collaboration with exemplary farming and conscientious vineyard management.
So here’s to harvest, the nuanced cool-climate wines that emerge from it, and the hardworking merlot-stained hands that make it all happen – an ode to the makers, the shakers, the growers, the storytellers. Next time you raise a glass of Rochford wine, give a little toast to the magic of harvest season. Cheers!

Meet Projekt Creative Co.: Behind the Lens
The story behind Projekt Creative Co: Tell us a bit about yourselves and deciding to go into business together. What inspired you to start your wedding photography and videography journey, and what led you to where you are today?
We’re Nicholas and Lucas, the brothers behind Projekt Creative Co! Our journey into the wedding industry started with a shared desire to build a career around creativity and meaningfulness. After feeling pretty unfulfilled in our previous careers, we knew we wanted to chase something that actually excited us.
In 2021 we decided to turn our passion into a business, and Projekt Creative Co. was born. At first, we dabbled in everything—proposals, engagements, real estate, nightlife, even international music festivals. But the moment we shot our first wedding, it all just clicked. It is a unique experience having the opportunity to capture the love between two people, telling their unique stories, and documenting the moments that’ll be cherished forever.
Since then, we’ve gone all in on weddings, and it’s been the best decision we’ve ever made.
Working together as brothers has been a massive advantage—we complement each other’s skills, communicate without even thinking, and share the same creative vision. It is one thing to have a close coworker, and another thing completely to have grown up with them – it’s almost a shared brainwave. That connection allows us to work seamlessly together and bring out the best in every couple we capture. Now, three years later, we’re proud to be full-time wedding photographers and videographers. Every couple we work with inspires us, and we feel so lucky to be able to tell their stories in a way that feels real, timeless, and meaningful.
Your work is truly breathtaking! How would you describe your photography and videography style? What makes your work and the way you work with couples unique and stand out?
Our style is all about capturing real, genuine moments—nothing stiff, awkward, or overly posed. We want our couples to feel comfortable, have fun, and just be themselves. Weddings are filled with so many raw, beautiful moments, and our job is to document them as they naturally unfold.
We take a relaxed, storytelling approach, mixing candid moments with a cinematic feel to create wedding films and photos that are timeless and full of emotion. Laughter, happy tears, quiet in-between moments—we capture it all in a way that feels effortless and true to each couple.
At the end of the day, our goal is to give our couples something that takes them straight back to how they felt on their wedding day. It’s not just about how it looked—it’s about the energy, the love, and the little moments that made it special.
Magical moments & career highlights: Can you share a wedding you’ve shot that stands out as particularly special or unforgettable? What made it so memorable? Any other special moments in your business that you couldn’t stop smiling about or celebrating?
We’ve been lucky to capture so many incredible weddings, each with its own unique moments that stick with us. But one that really stands out is Brianna and Shaun’s wedding—it was full of surprises from start to finish.
They had a small, intimate ceremony with just their immediate family, keeping it all hush-hush. Later that night, they hosted what their guests thought was an engagement party. When they walked in wearing their wedding outfits, the whole room just erupted—complete shock, happy tears, pure joy. And if that wasn’t enough, they had one more surprise up their sleeve—they announced they were expecting another baby.
Being there to capture those raw, unscripted reactions was something special. Moments like that remind us why we love what we do—it’s not just about the photos and videos, it’s about the emotions, the energy, the people, and the once-in-a-lifetime memories we get to be a part of.
Shooting Newlyweds all over Melbourne: What would have to be your favourite location to shoot? Do you prefer out in nature by the beach or the countryside, or the cultural richness and heritage of the inner city and why? What’s your approach to capturing a couple’s authentic moments and do you find this easier in particular settings?
When it comes to locations, the Yarra Valley is hands-down our favourite. There’s just something special about the rolling vineyards, golden fields, and those unreal sunsets that make every wedding feel like pure magic. The whole atmosphere is relaxed and romantic, which helps couples feel completely in the moment—and that’s when the best shots happen. Every time we’re out there, we feel right at home, capturing love stories in a place that truly inspires us.
Another spot we keep coming back to is Parliament House. There is a grand and timeless elegance that comes with the building and adds to every shot. Being an iconic Melbourne landmark, it gives couples a backdrop that feels both personal and chic, a little bit of charm amongst the hustle and bustle.
No matter where we’re shooting—whether it’s the coast, the city, or somewhere in between—our approach is always the same: keep it natural and make sure our couples feel comfortable. When they’re relaxed, the real moments happen—the laughter, the quiet looks, the little gestures that make their love story unique. That’s what we’re all about—capturing those real, unfiltered emotions in a way that feels effortless and true to them. You won’t find us posing your arms into exact positions; you’ll be chatting and laughing right with us.
Projekt Creative & Rochford Wines: How do you use our picturesque landscapes and versatile spaces to create stunning imagery and video? Do you have a favourite spot on our grounds for those iconic newlywed shoots?
Rochford Wines is an absolute dream to shoot at. The mix of vineyards, open green spaces, and the stunning lake gives us endless opportunities to make magic happen. The Rochford landscape has the natural beauty that comes with the Yarra Valley, and works perfectly for both intimate moments, and those perfect wide shots to show off the scenery.
Our favourite spot has to be the vineyard. There is a romantic vibe about those endless rows of vines, and we love to get in close to capture the little details – the way lovers look at each other, the way they hold hands – all whilst surrounded by a stunning backdrop. The magic of the vineyard really takes life from the air with drone shots – seeing the couple as a small but significant part of the vast landscape always makes for a stunning frame, with the white dress popping against the greenery and earth, taking frames with the white dress and suit popping perfectly.
No matter where we’re shooting at Rochford, our goal is always the same—capturing the connection between the couple while making the most of the incredible surroundings. This venue has such a special feel, and we love bringing that to life through our photos and films.
Capturing each unique love story: How do you tailor your approach to each couple? Are there particular details or moments you look for to ensure their personality and love story shine through your work?
No two couples are the same, and that’s what makes our job so special. Some couples love a bit of direction, while others just want to relax, have a laugh, and let the moments unfold naturally. Our approach is always tailored to match their vibe, so they feel comfortable and completely themselves on the day.
For us, it all starts with building a solid connection before the wedding. We take the time to get to know our couples—how they met, what they love about each other, what kind of energy they want for their day. The more we understand their personalities, the more we can capture their love story in a way that feels true to them.
On the day, we’re always on the lookout for those little things that make each couple unique—the way they look at each other when no one’s watching, the inside jokes, the happy tears, those small looks at each other during speeches. It’s those raw, unfiltered moments that make their wedding film and photos feel like them, not just a highlight reel of the day.
Talking Wedding Trends: Photography & Videography has and continues to evolve each year in the wedding industry… What are some recent and emerging trends that you’ve loved and any that you’ve chosen not to adopt? What are your overall thoughts on trends compared to classic and timeless methods? What do you predict will stay in 2025 and beyond?
The wedding industry is always evolving, and while we love seeing new trends, our focus is on capturing timeless, authentic moments. Here’s our take on some recent trends:
Photography Trends What we’ve loved: We have loved the natural and candid moments! Couples want their photos to reflect the day, not just stiff and posed photos. We have also been incorporating more Vogue-y style images in our albums as we think that is a trend that hits the timeless element couples are loving at the moment.
What we’ve chosen not to adopt:We’ve stayed away from heavy editing and grain. Instead, we keep things natural and timeless, with consistent tones and colours that will look great for years to come.
Videography Trends What we’ve loved:Cinematic storytelling is something we’re excited about. We focus on creating films that highlight the couple’s connection, telling their story and showcasing the day, making the final product feel more like a beautiful film than just a recap of events.
What we’ve chosen not to adopt: We’ve skipped the VHS retro look, as well as the heavily edited “action†style films. While fun for some, we prefer high-quality, cinematic footage that focuses on the real moments and beauty of the day, without relying on gimmicks.
Timeless vs. Trends Trends come and go, but real moments are what last. Our goal is always to balance modern creativity with timeless techniques, so couples can look back on their photos and films and feel just as emotional as they did on the day.
What will stay in 2025 and beyond? Photography: Natural light, candid moments, and authentic storytelling will stay strong. Couples will continue to seek photographers who capture their real emotions. Conversely, we are in love with that heavy flash vogue-style, and believe that is here to stay.
Videography:Cinematic, storytelling films will keep growing, with a focus on emotional, real moments rather than gimmicks or heavy edits.
The artistry behind the lens: Lighting, angles, the camera, posture, emotions, editing, etc… there’s so much that contributes to the end result of your final albums… What’s one or two important aspects of your work that couples might not realize makes a big difference in their photos or videos?
One thing couples might not always think about is how much lighting affects their photos and videos. It’s one of the biggest factors in making sure everything looks as amazing as possible. Bad lighting—especially if the space is too dark—can make it hard to capture the best shot and makes editing a lot trickier.
We personally love cloudy days because the soft, diffused light creates a natural, flattering glow. The clouds act like a giant softbox, which helps to smooth out shadows and make everyone look their best. On the flip side, direct sunlight can be a bit harsh and create unflattering shadows, particularly on faces. That’s why we’re big fans of shooting during the golden hour, just before sunset. The warm, soft light gives a beautiful look and really sets the mood for the evening’s photos and videos.
So, lighting is key—whether we’re working with a cloudy sky or chasing that perfect sunset, it’s one of the things that can transform photos and videos from good to amazing.
Overcoming Challenges: What’s the most challenging moment you’ve faced or a crazy thing that’s happened on a wedding day, and how did you navigate it?
One of the biggest challenges we navigate consistently as wedding photographers is the unpredictability of the weather, especially that Melbourne weather. Sudden rain showers or a harsh midday sun can completely change the lighting and setting in an instant. Rather than seeing it as a problem, it’s key to see it as an opportunity to get creative.
It’s all about quick-thinking and being confident in your own decision making. We adapt quickly, finding covered spots, embracing the romance of the rain, or using moody lighting to turn the moment into something cinematic. On the other hand, when the sun is blazing, we adjust our angles, use natural shade, and work with the light to create a warm and glowing image, rather than harsh shadows.
Being quick on our feet (and in our minds!) helps us to keep the couple feeling calm and confident, knowing that no matter what the weather throws at us, we’ve got this. Bad weather does NOT have to mean bad photos!
Advice for the big day: What tips would you give to couples preparing for their wedding day shoots to ensure they get the best results? Any insider advice for those beautiful candid shots and helping them feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera?
Our biggest tip for couples is to keep things simple. Less is more when it comes to your wedding day. We’ve seen couples try to squeeze too much into their schedule, and it can make the day feel rushed and take away from the moments that really matter – we always encourage our couples to have time to smell the roses, and enjoy the moments of the night.
Instead, carve out time to just be in the moment. Take it all in and really enjoy each part of the day—it’ll make a huge difference. When you’re relaxed and present, the photos and videos come out naturally and beautifully. That’s when we can really capture those candid, emotional moments that will mean the most down the line.
Beyond the camera, tell us a little about yourself! When you’re not capturing love stories, what are your hobbies or passions? What inspires you in your personal life?
When we’re not capturing love stories, we are all about travelling. Every year, we make sure to head off and explore new places, diving into different cultures. Lately, Europe has been calling our names. Greece, Italy, Switzerland – there’s something about the rich history, stunning landscapes, and amazing vibe that keeps us hooked. Being of Greek and Italian heritage, it’s just a part of life for us to immerse ourselves in each culture as much as we can.
Travel doesn’t just fill our passports—it sparks our creativity too. It inspires the way we approach storytelling, giving us fresh perspectives that we can bring into our work.
Looking to the future: What exciting projects or dreams do you have for the future of Projekt Creative Co.? Are there any goals or aspirations you’re particularly excited about?
Looking ahead, one of our biggest goals for Projekt Creative Co. is to dive into destination weddings. We’re stoked to share that we’ve already made a big step in that direction—our first destination wedding is locked in for August 2025 in a stunning Tuscan village in Italy.
It’s a huge milestone for us, and we can’t wait to start capturing love stories in some of the world’s most beautiful locations. We’re excited about the journey ahead and are committed to giving our couples those timeless, heartfelt images no matter where their love takes us.
Anything else you wish to include…
“If you like everything you’ve read about us and you’re looking for a fun, relaxed brother duo to capture your wedding day, look no further! As many organisations look for new and innovative ways to motivate, reward, and retain employees, incentive travel has become a powerful tool, especially in the Corporate world. Incentive travel fosters team building and creates meaningful, memorable experiences that align with company goals and drive performance, making it a getaway that’s both fun, enjoyable as well as productive and purposeful. Successfully blending business with pleasure is what we’re renowned for here at Rochford Wines, where we’ve crafted unique corporate incentives that combine the best of nature, team building activities, fine wine, and professional growth. Our famous Victorian winery is a popular travel destination, just an hour’s drive from Melbourne with many transport and accommodation options, making it convenient for all corporate clients and guests.
Why Incentive Travel is On The Rise
The rise in incentive travel stems from its ability to do more than just reward employees—it enhances productivity, encourages team collaboration, and strengthens company culture. Post Covid, organisations continue to struggle with dispersed workforces and employee retention challenges, which is why they’re turning to travel experiences to bring teams together in ways that build lasting bonds and increase motivation. According to the latest Incentive Travel Index, 83% of companies find travel to be an increasingly valued reward, with 79% saying that it is significantly useful in connecting their distributed teams.
Incentive travel and experiences strengthen internal organisational values such as company culture, engagement and employee satisfaction, which in turn increases external growth including sales and market share. As businesses move towards valuing personal connections and unique experiences, this incentive trend has become an ideal solution for reinforcing relationships and loyalty among teams.

One of the many reasons why corporations choose to host their conferences here in the Yarra Valley is due to the essence of the location – offering employees opportunities for relaxing breaks out amongst nature and free time exploring the beautiful countryside and everything the local community has to offer – ensuring attendees return rejuvenated and refreshed.
Incentive travel should also be inclusive, offering activities that cater to all genders, ages, preferences and cultures. Rochford provides a wide range of incentives experiences, from wine blending workshops to team-building activities like grape stomping and archery, offering numerous options for each team member to be able to participate in.
